It’s a sequel that didn’t need to be made, tying together so many stories that it manages to prove audiences aren’t burn out on superhero films, but on bad writing. Not that this latest Deadpool is great writing, following the same basic structure as any other superhero ensemble film, but it manages to blend the crude humor of Deadpool with the somber tone of Fox’s X-Men franchise better than it should, while managing to bring in more cameos than a Kevin Smith movie. It’s possibly the only good thing to come out of the multiverse since Toby Maguire.
