Review:

If the capture of the second marathon bomber occurring 30 minutes into the film, while Jake Gyllenhaal’s Jeff is still bedridden in a hospital, doesn’t highlight the fact that Boston’s recovery took far longer than the 4-day manhunt, then Tatiana Maslany’s Erin talking about the “huge circle of people who had their lives altered” for him
clearly does. And since we’ve seen how much her life has changed, in order to support him, I’m not sure if I feel worse about her than I do him.

With a low budget, and mostly interior shots, it shows that an impactful movie about a major event can be made without needing a major event sized budget or heavy handed CGI effects. That the movie did so poorly at the box office was due to its lack of marketing.
