Review:

I always try to imagine what it was like to see this in 1977, when nothing like it had been released before. From the opening crawl onwards, so many things had to be made special for this film. Not just in costumes, set designs, or models, but in the sound effects that make it feel like it’s not a Tunisian desert or England backlot. There’s blaster bolts, droid motors, alien voices, speeder noises, lightsaber swooshes, and it’s all so detailed, even to the point of each X-Wing having a slightly different engine note. Not only can I not imagine what it was like to see this film when it was released, I can’t imagine what it was like to make it.
