A precursor to both Jurassic Park and The Terminator, this low-budget film was surprisingly very ahead of its time. The “pixel-vision”, which took months to create, was one of the industry’s first computer generated scenes, could be done in real-time on your cell-phone. Pete Martin’s early complaints about how it could be more comfortable, considering the price they paid, is rebuffed with a comment on how it wouldn’t be as accurate. It’s a conversation that would take place today, were Westworld a real place. Yet such a forward leaning film never left its audience behind, doing a great job of hand holding and answering the viewers questions, without taking you out of the story.
Much better than its low budget would have you expect. Pleasantly surprised.
